Academic Term
This contract will remain in full force and effect until such time as a student notifies the teacher or staff of Merry Melody Music Academy in writing that they will be discontinuing. Early withdrawal fees may apply.
Acceptance and Placement
Mrs. Knight/Manager reserves the right to assess and place each student in the appropriate class, companion lesson or private lesson.
Private and companion lesson slots are limited and not all students will qualify for a private lesson.
Reserving a lesson slot can ONLY be done by completing this contract and providing the non-refundable deposit payment.
Students who chose to take a break from lessons or classes will NOT be guaranteed a spot if/when they return unless the time slot has been reserved and the non-refundable deposit paid in full.
Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis. Mrs. Knight/Manager reserves the right to fill private lessons, companion lessons and group lessons at her/Management’s discretion.
Attendance
Students, please arrive 5 minutes before your appointed class time. If a student is late to class 3 or more times in a month that student will be dismissed from the lesson or class.
In consideration of other students’ lessons/classes, please pick up your child in a timely manner.
Students who have finished with their lesson/class may wait in the entry for up to 15 minutes for their ride. If a student remains at the studio longer than 15 minutes, they will be charged for an additional half hour lesson.
If a student is unable to attend a lesson, he/she may submit a recording of their assignment via online link for instructor comments and their next assignment.
In case of illness, please contact the office at 1-218-238-5001 24 hours before the scheduled lesson/class. Tuition and fees will not be refunded or adjusted.
Please do not bring your child to their lesson if they have a persistent cough, fever (of any kind), runny nose etc. Instead, please take advantage of our online lesson opportunities or group make-up classes for absent students. Call the office at 1-218-238-5001 to get more information on make-up lesson days and online lessons.
Missed lessons will NOT be made up individually. Group make-up classes will be offered at the Academy’s discretion throughout the year. Dates and times will be announced on the Academy’s calendar and in the Band App.
With the Academy’s permission, private students may switch/trade lesson times with another private student or attend a friend’s lesson.
With the Academy’s permission, group music class students may attend a different class at the Academy to “make up” for a missed class.
The Academy reserves the right to cancel in-person lessons at any time. If in-person lessons are canceled, classes will be held online (live) or via an online submission.
The length of ALL classes and lessons will be as listed on the Academy Website. Mrs. Knight/Manager reserves the right to adjust the length of any lesson or class.
The Academy will be closed for the following holidays: President’s Day, Memorial Day, the week of July the 4th (if it falls on a week day), Labor Day, Halloween (close at 5pm if on a week day), FULL week of Thanksgiving, December 20-January 3rd.
Any additional closures (i.e. weather or illness) will be announced on the Band app and the website.
It is the student’s responsibility to turn on app notifications, check emails and stay on top of Academy’s announcements.
